In what may well be a first it appears Hot Wheels have chosen the U.K. first to launch its very desirable Gran Turismo range. Europe has traditionally been ignored by Mattel for any non Mainline line with the more interesting stuff coming here via our discount stores as unsold U.S. stock or after they have been on sale there first. Through its parent company of Walmart, our ASDA stores appear to have exclusive rights on this Gran Turismo range and one of the models is this breathtakingly good Ford GT LM. It is very well cast but what really impresses is the detailing which this diecast gets with impressive tampo work to both ends, a stylish matte black finish and high quality livery. The big pull of the Gran Turismo brand has obviously worked well as I have struggled to find all the models in this range as nearly every ASDA branch I have been to in the last few weeks have sold out almost immediately. I travelled to one further afield and found this and a handful more hiding in the floor level bins usually reserved for normal priced Mainlines. Mint and boxed.
