Rabbi Ashi - (352 - 427 BCE) was a celebrated Jewish religous scholar, a Babylonian amora, who reestablished the academy at Sura and was first editor of the Babylonian Talmud. This is part of a depiction of Rav Ashi teaching at the Sura Academy.
