Background Nick Masters serves as the principal bass with the Olympia Symphony Orchestra and South Puget Sound Community College Orchestra. He is assistant principal of the Federal Way Symphony and member of the Bellevue Symphony. He performs regularly with Symphony Tacoma, as well as the Yakima and Spokane symphonies. As an educator Nick, serves as faculty at Saint Martin’s University and South Puget Sound Community College, and teaching artist with the Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia. He also teaches a large studio of private students in Olympia, Washington. Nick attended Western Washington University and Seattle University. His principal teachers have been Joe Kaufman and Travis Gore, both of the Seattle Symphony. As a soloist, Nick was the winner of Seattle University’s 2011 concerto competition and runner up in the 2010 competition. Nick has attended Round Top and Marrowstone music festivals.
