Studs are textures that are placed on parts. The original studs were 3D, from around 2004-2005 and had no branding. In 2006, studs were changed to a flat texture. They resembled a Lego stud, with there being a 'R' placed in the middle instead of the Lego logo. This version of studs is commonly referred to as circle studs.
